Location: On-site in Manhattan
Salary Range: $100,000 – $150,000 (commensurate with experience)

What You’ll Do

Lead & Inspire the Team

  • Manage and mentor a team responsible for new business, renewals, and service requests.

  • Train and onboard new hires while providing ongoing coaching and regular one-on-ones.

  • Oversee workload distribution, PTO coverage, and daily operational flow to keep the team running smoothly.

Drive Underwriting Excellence

  • Review complex or challenging submissions and provide guidance on underwriting decisions.

  • Monitor renewal timelines and ensure proposals are prepared accurately and on schedule.

  • Serve as the go-to escalation point for underwriting questions or situations requiring carrier collaboration.

Strengthen Broker & Carrier Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong, responsive relationships with brokers.

  • Resolve escalated issues with professionalism and urgency.

  • Work closely with carrier underwriters to clarify guidelines, negotiate terms, and address underwriting obstacles.

Ensure Operational Quality & Efficiency

  • Step in to review or handle work as needed to maintain continuity and service excellence.

  • Identify gaps in processes, communication, or account handling, and implement improvements to enhance workflow consistency.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of commercial lines underwriting or account management experience; leadership experience strongly preferred.

  • Solid understanding of commercial P&C lines, carrier appetites, and underwriting processes.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and team leadership skills.

  • Experience in a multi-carrier or wholesale environment is a strong plus.
