About the Role:
We are excited to announce a new opportunity within our Foreign Bank Clients Finance team. Following the retirement of a long-standing team member, they are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented finance professional to support their dynamic organization. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to key financial reporting functions and engage with international banking operations within a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary:
As a (Senior) Accountant / Finance Professional, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational alignment across our domestic and international entities. Your expertise will support management reporting, regulatory submissions, credit analysis, and the development of robust accounting policies. Ideal candidates will possess experience within a foreign banking organization (FBO) or a U.S.-based bank, with a solid grasp of banking-specific financial operations and reporting requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Management & International Reporting:
    Collaborate with the international corporate parent and affiliates to prepare comprehensive financial reports. Reconcile local GAAP with IFRS standards, perform variance analysis, and provide insights into financial performance on a monthly basis.

  • Regulatory Reporting & Compliance:
    Serve as a primary backup for the preparation and submission of regulatory filings for FBOs and their affiliates. Assist with reports for the Federal Reserve Board, NYS Department of Financial Services examinations, and other regulatory inquiries. Coordinate with the ICT team for Reg-Reporter maintenance and updates.

  • Credit & CECL Framework Analysis:
    Oversee the review and reconciliation of credit losses under the Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) model. Manage provisioning for loan loss reserves and perform calculations under IFRS standards.

  • First-Line Accounting & Internal Controls:
    Take ownership of core accounting functions, including general ledger review, month-end closing procedures, and maintaining strong internal controls over financial reporting.

  • Accounting Policy & Regulatory Compliance:
    Implement new accounting standards and ensure all financial practices align with US GAAP and IFRS requirements. Maintain and update department policies and procedures.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Coordinate with regulatory consultants, internal teams, and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.


Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within banking, financial services, or a related sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent field.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks; eagerness to deepen knowledge if needed is helpful but not a primary requirement
  • Practical understanding of banking operations, including corporate lending and credit accounting. Loan reconciliation process
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, with expert-level skills in Excel (Power Query, PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, Macros).

Salary Range:

  • Senior Associate: $130,000 – $135,000 
  • Vice President: $150,000 – $155,000
