Trade Services Officer bilingual Chinese  (Banking exp required)
Located on-site in Manhattan
Base salary $105K-120K depending on skills and experience

We are seeking an experienced Trade Services Officer to join our Manhattan-based team. In this role, you will manage complex trade finance operations, from issuing Standby and Commercial L/Cs to advising on compliance matters, supporting customer needs, and contributing to the growth and innovation of our trade finance product offerings.

 Key Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English – both verbal and written.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in trade finance operations within banking.

  • Strong working knowledge of:

    • Standby LCs, Back-to-Back LCs, Forfeiting, and Factoring

    • UCP600, ISBP, ISP98, and URC522 regulations

  • Solid understanding of banking operations – including account handling and fund transfers.

 Your Responsibilities

  • Issue and manage Commercial and Standby Letters of Credit, process amendments, and examine presented documents for compliance.

  • Handle inward and outward collections, perform compliance checks, and manage all related payment transactions and charges.

  • Liaise with customers, resolve issues, and provide expert support for trade finance transactions.

  • Assist in the development and enhancement of the Trade Services business line within the New York Branch.

  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to customize trade solutions for clients across industries.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including Compliance and Risk Management to uphold internal controls and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in annual BSA/AML training and ensure appropriate handling of suspicious activity reporting.
