Position Overview
The Divisional Controller oversees institutional client and trust accounting operations across multiple markets. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution, ensuring compliance with Real Estate Commission Trust Accounting Regulations and GAAP standards. The Controller is responsible for accurate and timely reporting, strong internal controls, and fostering efficiency while building client relationships and leading a high-performing accounting team.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the property accounting team in delivering accurate and compliant financial reporting.

Oversee monthly trust accounting close and annual operating budgets

Review and approve client financial packages; resolve escalated issues

Partner with property management and institutional clients to anticipate needs and drive results

Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal accounting policies

Support audits and maintain clean, compliant financials

Manage resources to support acquisitions, onboarding, and growth
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Strong general ledger and technical accounting expertise

Real estate or property management accounting experience preferred

Proven leadership, client communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience/Knowledge of APPfolio or similar system preferred$110-130K
