Counsel & Consumer Compliance Program Manager

Located onsite in Manhattan 
 $100K–$170K base salary (DOE)
Reports to: Chief Compliance Officer

 Step into a high-impact leadership role where you’ll partner directly with executive leadership and influence the compliance strategy of a dynamic, growth-focused bank.

This role is ideal for a licensed attorney with at least 3 years of experience in banking law or regulatory compliance who is looking to blend legal acumen with strategic oversight.

What You'll Do:

  • Act as trusted counsel to the Chief Compliance Officer and Deputy Head of Compliance.

  • Lead the regulatory and corporate compliance monitoring and testing program.

  • Oversee regulatory change management, ensuring the Bank stays ahead of evolving laws.

  • Review documentation, disclosures, and marketing materials for compliance with consumer protection laws.

  • Manage legal processes including litigation, subpoenas, and regulatory inquiries.

  • Play a key role in the development of new products and services, ensuring compliance from inception.

  • Deliver and support ongoing compliance training programs across the Bank.

  • Analyze legal contracts and coordinate with internal and external counsel.

What You Bring:

  • Juris Doctorate and license to practice law in New York State.

  • 3+ years of experience in legal or compliance roles within the banking or financial services industry.

  • Deep understanding of federal and state banking laws, especially consumer protection regulations.

  • Ability to translate complex regulations into practical business guidance.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior leadership.

  • Mandarin fluency (verbal and written) is a plus, but not required.
