Mortgage Underwriting/ Credit Officer 
located in Manhattan with a foreign bank

Essential Functions
Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with CFPB, State and Federal regulations.
Ensures compliance with established Bank policies and procedures; completes tasks correctly and on time; support the companys goals and values.
Evaluate loan applications for risks and various criteria such as accuracy,consistency and completeness.
Ensure the underwriting validation performed meets with bank or other secondary marketing investor guidelines, as applicable.
 Perform analysis and review of all loan information, including, however, not limited to credit reports, appraisal reports, title reports, tax returns, financial statements,
income and asset documentation.
Review spreadsheets and calculates appropriate rations and other financial information. Approve loan with proper documentation or recommend further action.
Prepares file approval summarizing results and validates Credit Risk Ratings in compliance with the Banks credit guideline.
Communicate effectively and engage proactively with loan underwriters in regard to loan decisions, assignment of loan conditions, documentation requirements and
possible loan scenarios.
Performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned such as loan delivery and prepare all closing loan doc accurately, including but not limited to,
preparing closing documents pursuant to bank and regulatory guidelines.
 Coordinates with the title company/closing agent for the receipt of all closing fees and documents for the preparation of disclosures
Reviews closing documents after closing to ensure that they were executed correctly prior to funding the loan.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
 5+ years of recent Mortgage Underwriting Experience (FHA, VA and Conventional) with strong agency guideline knowledge.
 Encompass LOS experience is a plus.
 Solid organizational and problem-solving skills
 Proven aptitude to work in both a team and individual environment
Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, DU / LP AUS systems
Must have proficient written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of compliance and disclosure requirements
