Senior Auditor Internal Audit Financial Crimes and Corporate Compliance
Direct Hire Base Salary $130,000 to $145,000
3 Days onsite and 2 days remote after 3 months of onsite training
Position Overview
A confidential international banking institution is seeking a bilingual Spanish Senior Auditor to join its Internal Audit team supporting U.S. operations, including its New York and Miami offices. This role will independently execute risk-based audits with a primary focus on Financial Crimes and Corporate Compliance programs within a regulated banking environment.
This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity for an experienced bank auditor who can manage assignments from planning and fieldwork through reporting and remediation follow-up. Spanish fluency is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute end-to-end, risk-based internal audits of BSA and AML, OFAC and sanctions, KYC and Customer Due Diligence, transaction monitoring, Financial Crime Risk Management, and other regulatory compliance functions.
- Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and perform detailed audit testing in accordance with Internal Audit standards.
- Assess AML transaction monitoring programs and sanctions and OFAC controls, documenting procedures, findings, and supporting evidence.
- Identify control gaps, evaluate risk, and develop practical recommendations for corrective action.
- Prepare clear audit reports and validate management’s remediation of identified issues.
- Support Internal Audit activities during regulatory examinations and interact effectively with stakeholders in both English and Spanish.
Required Qualifications
- Current or recent hands-on Internal Audit experience within a bank or other regulated financial institution.
- Demonstrated experience planning, testing, executing, and reporting audits of Financial Crimes and regulatory compliance programs.
- Direct audit experience involving BSA and AML, OFAC and sanctions, KYC and CDD, transaction monitoring, and related Financial Crimes controls.
- Knowledge of the U.S. banking regulatory environment and familiarity with one or more of the FRB, NYDFS, OCC, FDIC, or OFR.
- Fluency in English and Spanish, including the ability to conduct interviews, review documentation, and prepare professional communications in Spanish.
- Ability to work independently across multiple audit areas and manage assignments from planning through final reporting.
This role requires unrestricted U.S. work authorization. Employer sponsorship is not available.
