Head of Risk & Compliance / BSA Officer
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Opportunity
Our client, an international bank with a U.S. presence, is seeking a Head of Risk & Compliance who will also serve as the BSA Officer for its New York Branch.
This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role within a small branch environment, offering full ownership of risk, compliance, and financial crime functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead Risk & Compliance across market, credit, liquidity, and operational risk
- Serve as BSA Officer, overseeing AML, KYC/CDD, OFAC, and transaction monitoring
- Ensure compliance with FRB, and NYSDFS regulations (Part 504, 311, 314A)
- Act as primary liaison with regulators and lead audits/examinations
- Manage risk assessments, reporting, and governance committees
- 10+ years in banking risk/compliance
- Prior BSA Officer or Head of Compliance experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. banking regulations and AML frameworks
- Experience in a foreign bank or small branch environment preferred
- Hands-on, able to operate in a lean team structure
Compensation
$185K – $225K base + benefits
