Project Finance Credit Analyst
Located on-site in Manhattan
International Bank seeking a Project Finance Credit Risk Analyst to support Project Finance and Infrastructure transactions throughout the Americas. This position offers exposure to transaction underwriting, portfolio monitoring, credit risk analysis, watch list management, and participation in complex project finance transactions across renewable energy, power, infrastructure, transportation, and related sectors.
Responsibilities:
Credit Underwriting & Transaction Analysis
- Support senior credit analysts in evaluating new Project Finance and Infrastructure transactions
- Prepare detailed written credit opinions and recommendations
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow projections, transaction structures, and risk mitigants
- Perform industry research, peer analysis, and market assessments
- Develop independent credit views separate from the business unit
Portfolio Management & Risk Monitoring
- Monitor existing Project Finance and selected Corporate Finance transactions
- Track loan covenants, conditions, and ongoing credit requirements
- Review early warning indicators and identify emerging credit concerns
- Escalate material risk deterioration and recommend appropriate actions
- Maintain and update watch list reporting and transaction information
Credit Risk Management
- Participate in portfolio reviews and watch list discussions
- Present problem credits and risk concerns to management as needed
- Ensure transactions comply with internal credit policies, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements
- Support site visits, client meetings, bank meetings, and deal discussions
- Maintain transaction information within internal systems and reporting platforms
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Credit Officers
- Maintain effective communication with business units regarding pipeline activity and industry developments
- Support consistent application of credit standards across the organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field required
- 2–4 years of Project Finance, Infrastructure Finance, Credit Risk, Corporate Banking, Portfolio Management, or related banking experience required
- Experience analyzing commercial loan transactions and preparing credit memorandums preferred
- Strong financial statement analysis and cash flow modeling skills
- Understanding of Project Finance transaction structures preferred
- Knowledge of renewable energy, power, infrastructure, transportation, or structured finance sectors is a plus
- Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
