Job Title: Credit Risk Management Director (VP/Associate Director)

About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Credit Risk Management professional to oversee and manage credit risk for corporate and project finance transactions across the Americas. This leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to influence credit strategies, drive risk assessments, and collaborate with senior stakeholders in a dynamic banking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead credit risk assessment and management for new and existing corporate and project finance transactions, ensuring alignment with the bank’s risk appetite and strategic objectives.
- Prepare comprehensive credit opinions and review memos to support decision-making processes.
- Monitor ongoing transaction risk profiles, track compliance with approval conditions, and respond proactively to early warning indicators.
- Engage in active portfolio monitoring, including maintaining an updated global credit watch list and participating in portfolio review discussions.
- Conduct industry and peer group analyses to benchmark credit risks and support industry-specific risk insights.
- Participate in deal discussions, client meetings, and site visits as needed, contributing independent and well-informed judgment on transaction viability.
- Develop and articulate independent credit opinions, balancing business interests with risk management principles.
- Maintain strong communication with business units to ensure a shared understanding of industry developments, credit standards, and pipeline updates.
- Ensure all transactions adhere strictly to internal policies, regulatory requirements, Basel II standards, and risk-adjusted pricing tools.
- Oversee the credit approval process, ensuring appropriate authority levels are respected.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date transaction data within the bank’s IT systems.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and risk awareness.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant credit risk management experience, with a preference for 12–15 years for senior-level candidates.
- Deep expertise in corporate and project finance, with a strong grasp of credit analysis, risk modeling, and portfolio management.
- Proven ability to independently assess complex transactions and communicate risk insights convincingly.
- Strong understanding of Basel II/III standards, regulatory frameworks, and risk-adjusted pricing methodology.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capability in mentoring and developing team members.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with a collaborative mindset.
