VP – Commercial Real Estate Lending (Construction / CRE)
Location: Central New Jersey
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 + incentive

Our client is not. They remain active in both income-producing and construction lending and are looking to add a Commercial Real Estate Relationship Manager / Lender to their team.
This role is ideal for a lender who enjoys originating new business while managing and growing a portfolio, with the ability to see transactions through from origination to closing.
Position Overview
The VP – Commercial Real Estate Lender will originate new CRE lending relationships while managing an existing portfolio of commercial real estate loans. The role includes construction financing, income-producing properties, and relationship-based lending.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers throughout the life of the loan and partner closely with credit to structure and close transactions.
What You’ll Do
Business Development
• Generate new CRE lending relationships within the target market
• Expand business through brokers, attorneys, developers, and other centers of influence
• Identify new opportunities in commercial real estate and construction financing
Deal Structuring & Execution
• Structure and recommend loan opportunities
• Gather due diligence materials and prepare loan proposals
• Partner with credit analysts to complete financial analysis and underwriting
• Present deals to Loan Committee within approval authority levels
Portfolio Management
• Manage and grow an existing CRE portfolio
• Monitor borrower performance and asset quality
• Maintain strong borrower relationships throughout the life of the loan
• Ensure compliance with bank policies and credit standards
Client Relationship Management
• Serve as the primary contact for borrowers from initial review through closing
• Advise clients on loan terms, status, and closing requirements
• Cross-sell treasury management and deposit products
What We’re Looking For
• 5+ years of Commercial Real Estate lending experience
• Experience with income-producing CRE properties
• Construction lending experience strongly preferred
• Proven business development and relationship management ability
• Strong credit analysis and deal structuring skills
• Established network of brokers, developers, and COIs
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
