HR Generalist – Payroll & Benefits Administration (Hybrid)

Location: Manhattan, New York

Base Salary-$90-110K depending on skills and experience

ACG Resources is assisting a well-established international financial institution in Manhattan seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations including payroll processing, benefits administration, employee records management, and HR compliance.

This position is ideal for an HR professional with hands-on experience in HR administration, payroll, and benefits operations who enjoys working in a professional financial services environment.


Required Experience

  • 5+ years of HR administration or HR generalist experience

  • Experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits

  • Experience maintaining I-9 documentation and personnel records

  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS systems


Key Responsibilities

  • Process semi-monthly payroll and assist with payroll reconciliation

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and COBRA administration

  • Maintain accurate personnel records and HR documentation in compliance with company policies and regulations

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, background checks, and orientation materials

  • Prepare new hire and exit documentation and maintain personnel files

  • Conduct I-9 verifications and maintain required records

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, HR policies, and procedures

  • Maintain attendance records and prepare HR reports using Excel and HR systems

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the HR department


Role Focus

This position focuses on HR operations including payroll processing, benefits administration, employee records management, and HR compliance rather than recruiting or HR business partner strategy.


Compliance Responsibilities

  • Perform OFAC screening for new hires and periodic employee reviews

  • Distribute and maintain acknowledgements for required policies including AML guidelines and Code of Ethics

  • Assist with vendor due diligence documentation in accordance with internal policies


Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to maintain confidential information with discretion

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or ADP reporting tools preferred

  • Experience in financial services or an international organization is a plus

  • French language skills a plus

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a primary HR contact for employees, answering questions related to benefits, policies, and procedures

  • Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations

  • Administer benefits programs, including enrollments, disenrollments, COBRA, and leaves of absence

  • Process semi-monthly payroll and reconcile payroll and benefit-related accounts

  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, including new hire packages, exit documentation, background checks, and I-9 verification

  • Generate HR and payroll reports using Excel and ADP Workforce Now

  • Reconcile invoices and prepare payment instructions

  • Support visa processing for internship programs in coordination with head office and external providers

  • Provide ongoing administrative support to the HR department

Compliance & BSA Responsibilities

  • Perform OFAC screening for new hires and quarterly screenings for all staff to meet BSA/AML requirements

  • Distribute and track acknowledgements for Anti-Money Laundering guidelines and the Branch Code of Ethics

  • Support vendor onboarding by completing due diligence documentation in line with vendor management policies

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience across all phases of personnel administration

  • Strong working knowledge of HR policies, benefits administration, and employment laws

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft OfficeADP Workforce Now and ADP Reporting strongly preferred

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

  • Experience with ADP On line Workforce now
    Knowledge of French is a plus, but not required
