VP/Director Credit Risk/Review Advisor
Our client, a well-established foreign bank in NYC, has engaged us to identify a Senior Credit Review/Risk Officer due to the pending retirement of the incumbent. This is an excellent opportunity to step into an established department reporting directly to the Head of Credit. The successful candidate will review credit analysts’ submissions and ensure that they are in line with the bank’s credit policies. Will provide recommendations to the head of credit on the creditworthiness of the deals.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Advisor/Review Officer to support the credit decision process. This role involves preparing comprehensive credit analyses, serving as Secretary to the local Credit Committee, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed credit analyses and recommendations for new transactions, annual reviews, waivers, and amendments.

Assess deal structures, repayment ability, ESG considerations, and risk classifications.

Serve as Secretary to the Credit Committee, including agenda setting, meeting documentation, and maintaining committee records.

Coordinate reporting and reconciliations related to credit reviews, early warning signals, collateral valuations, and forbearance.

Monitor macroeconomic and industry trends that may impact borrower creditworthiness.

Support the Senior Credit Officer with special projects, credit provisioning, and policy updates.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff as needed.
Qualifications:

Strong credit and financial analysis skills with proven ability to evaluate complex transactions.

Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Broad knowledge of corporate banking products and accounting.

Ability to effectively present recommendations and interact with all levels of management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and credit/risk systems.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
