Position Purpose

The IT Specialist is responsible for general IT duties and must have knowledge of information technology functions for the credit union.

Job Scope

The position assists with IT troubleshooting, telecommunication issues, and helps maintain the credit union’s servers.

 

Expected Contributions

  1. IT Department Duties

Key/Representative Activities:

  • Helps maintain, update, backup and ensure adequate capacity for credit union’s servers
  • Backs up and assumes non-managerial duties of IT Supervisor in the absence of the IT Supervisor
  • Helps users with general IT troubleshooting
  • Assists the support staff with telecommunication issues in regards to the IT department

 

Essential Qualifications & Competencies

 

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field preferred
  • 2-3 years of IT experience preferred
  • CompTIA and A+ certification preferred

 

Competencies:

  • Sound analytical and problem solving skills, etc
  • Strong understanding of server knowledge
  • Familiarity with communication equipment
  • General computer and IT skills
  • Detail orientated
