Operational Risk Management Governance Consultant Temp
Located on-site in Manhattan
Anticipated Duration: 3 months

Responsibilities:
  • Support regulatory issues remediation to develop and implement the ORMF in alignment with business strategy, overall enterprise risk management (ERM), regulatory requirements, and best practices suited for the size and complexity of the bank
  • Support Execution and implementation of ORMF in all operational risk types and programs
  • Help establish and maintain robust governance structures to monitor and report operational risks
  • Develop and implement key risk indicators (KRIs) and dashboards to monitor the bank’s operational risk profile
  • Develop comprehensive risk reports catered for senior management, the board, and relevant stakeholders
  • Manages the execution of the Enterprise Risk Assessment by performing Front Lint Unit level risk assessment in determining the risk profile and the aggregate operational risk stripe level.
  • Create risk appetite statement by outlining key principles, roles and responsibilities, definitions and key processes including risk appetite setting, monitoring and reporting, and linkage to risk capacity/ other organizational processes.
  • Enhance the Operational Risk Taxonomy by clarifying risk category definitions to reflect and drive meaningful analysis of risk environment and consistency in risk management processes, including risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting.   
  • Develop and deliver targeted Operational Risk Management Training program by line of defense and core operational risk process to drive a culture of risk awareness, enhance stakeholder understanding and engagement.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Banking/Financial Services
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Operational Risk Management Governance and oversight, including Risk Reporting (or combination with other equivalent experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree (required) or Master’s (preferred)
  • Strong technical skills and experience with operational risk management and reporting
  • Ability to be hands-on to drive execution and achieve results
  • Experience with regulator interactions
  • Demonstrated decision-making capability in stressful situations and dealing with complex issues involving competing interests
